WASHINGTON (Reuters) - United Airlines' parent UAL Corp (UAUA.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) believes consolidation in the U.S. airline industry needs to happen shortly and hopes a deal can be done before President George W. Bush leaves the White House, its chief financial officer said on Monday.
"We want consolidation to happen sooner rather than later, and we think that doing something now and getting it done in this administration is a good thing," Jake Brace said at the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit.
