WASHINGTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - U.S. health officials said on Friday they are probing safety concerns with Eli Lilly and Co's (LLY.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) antidepressant Cymbalta, GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) cancer drug Tykerb, Biogen Idec (BIIB.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Elan Corp's (ELN.I: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) multiple sclerosis drug Tysabri and other medicines.

The drugs were included among 20 products on a new quarterly list of medicines undergoing early safety probes following reports from the public of health problems.

Appearing on the list does not mean the Food and Drug Administration has concluded that the drug caused the problem, the agency said.

The FDA is evaluating reports of urinary retention with Cymbalta, liver toxicity with Tykerb and skin melanoma with Tysabri, according to the list which can be found at: here (Reporting by Susan Heavey and Lisa Richwine; editing by Tim Dobbyn)
