Italian Stocks - Factors to watch on Sept 5

 MILAN, Sept 5 (Reuters) - The following factors could affect
Italian markets on Friday.

 Air France-KLM could take a stake of 10-20 percent in a
revitalised group spun out of bankrupt Alitalia and become a
majority owner of the airline within five years, French daily La
Tribune reported.

 The Italian investor group leading a rescue of Alitalia does
not plan to buy the bankrupt carrier's cargo and heavy
maintenance units, one of the businessmen leading the group told
unions.

  * Banca Leonardo has been hired chosen to assess the value of
the assets that the group plans to buy from Alitalia, several
newspapers said.
 
 FIAT (FIA.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
 Car production and sales in Brazil fell sharply in August
from July, the automakers' association Anfavea said on Thursday,
as rising interest rates began to affect consumer demand.

 An appeals court in Munich has ruled in favour of the bank
in a case in which HVB minority shareholders were seeking more
money from UniCredit for its acquisition of the German bank,
Finanza & Mercati said.
 
 ALLIANZ (ALVG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), MEDIOBANCA (MDBI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), GENERALI (GASI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
 Enrico Cucchiani, head of the German insurer in Italy and
member of its board, said in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore
that he could not imagine Allianz exerting any influence over
Mediobanca; the insurer has a small, indirect stake in the
Italian merchant bank after Commerzbank (CBKG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) acquired
Dresdner Bank.
 
 GRUPPO EDITORIALE L'ESPRESSO SPA (ESPI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) 
 Marco Benedetto is leaving his job as chief executive of the
editorial group and will likely be replaced by Monica
Mondardini, several newspapers reported.
 
 MEDIOBANCA (MDBI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
 Cesare Geronzi, chairman of the merchant bank's supervisory
board, will meet with its chief executive, Alberto Nagel, on
Monday to review the proposed changes to Mediobanca's governance
ahead of a Sept. 18 committee meeting, Il Sole 24 Ore said.
 
 TELECOM ITALIA (TLIT.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), TELEFONICA (TEF.MC: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
 Telefonica Chairman Cesar Alierta comes to Milan on Monday
to meet with Franco Bernabe, chief executive of the Italian
telecommunications operator in which Telefonica has a stake, Il
Sole 24 Ore said; Alierta is seeking an update on Bernabe's
plans for the operator; he also plans to meet with the
government.
 
  * PININFARINA (PNNI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
 The banks are ready to renegotiate the car designer and nice
manufacturer's debt as long as the proceeds from the sale of any
