MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican broadcaster Televisa is in talks to produce shows for TV Record, Brazil's second-largest television network, a move that would give it access to more viewers in Latin America's biggest economy.

"We are in the process of finalizing an agreement with Record ... to produce programs for its 7 p.m. slot," Jose Baston, Televisa's corporate vice-president of television, told analysts on a conference call on Friday.

Televisa officials were not immediately available to provide further details on the deal.

The agreement would become Grupo Televisa's latest foray in international markets, following deals to produce programs for Chinese and French audiences in their own languages earlier this year.

Televisa, the biggest producer of Spanish-language TV content in the world, exports its sports and entertainment shows to some 60 countries. The company is known around the world for its soap operas.

On Thursday Televisa posted an 8.6 percent decline in second-quarter net majority profit, hurt by one-time expenses, but revenue rose a healthy 17 percent, driven by its broadcast and pay television businesses.

Its shares were up 0.50 percent at 48.64 pesos in morning trading, while its New York stock slipped 0.33 percent to $23.83.
