FOREX-Euro hits session highs vs dollar as US stocks weigh
NEW YORK, Aug 19 (Reuters) - The euro hit session highs against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday as traders took advantage of weakness in U.S. stocks to book profits on the greenback's recent gains.
The euro rose to session peaks at $1.4712 <EUR=>. It last traded at $1.4701, slightly up on the day.
"Overall weakness in U.S. stocks is adding to dollar bearishness," said Matt Kassel, director of FX trading at ING Capital Markets in New York. (Reporting by Gertrude Chavez-Dreyfuss; Editing by Tom Hals)
